The Mont Blanc Tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 5.00 pm on Monday 2 September to 5.00 pm on Monday 16 December 2024.
TMB-Gie, the Franco-Italian structure responsible for the maintenance and operation of the tunnel, recalls this in a press release.
The closure is due to the restoration of the vault on two sections of 300 meters each. The project, initially planned in 2023, had been postponed for a year by the Italian and French states meeting in the Intergovernmental Commission, in order to guarantee good connectivity between Italy and France following the landslide on the A43 in Maurienne.
