Today 12 April 2023 the presidents of Tyrol, Alto Adige and Bavaria, Anton Mattle, Arno Kompatscher and Markus Söder will sign a declaration of intent which will sanction the project to create a digital slot system for managing heavy traffic along the Brenner axis .
The declaration stems from a feasibility study commissioned by the Province of Bolzano: the document speaks, among other things, of the possibility of adopting a digital traffic management system which provides for the compulsory and free booking of time slots for the transalpine transit of heavy vehicles on the highways of the Brenner corridor.
In the past, the Italian road haulage trade associations had already expressed their grievances in the face of a project that would end up further limiting the traffic of goods along this important route and have asked the Government to take action and to order the measures, in so as not to limit and isolate the passage of goods from Italy.
