The strike called by the unions is the largest in the country's history and brought thousands of workers to the streets in Helsinki. The strike does not spare any sector.
The protest has already caused major disruption to the country's daily life, particularly in the transport sector.
The transport of goods in many Finnish ports has been interrupted and following the strike, some of the perishable and non-perishable goods, whose unloading operations have been suspended, will be diverted onto alternative freight vehicles, as well as onto passenger ships which will continue to operate.
Most large multinationals are threatening closure and suspension of employee salaries. This situation could further worsen the collection and distribution of goods in many areas of Finland.
The Scortrans terminal on site is operational and active despite the current difficulties with the commitment to deal in the best possible way with any inconveniences that may arise.
